This Special Collection features more than 3300 photographs dedicated to over 1600 works of art and architecture in Mexico, from the pre-contact era to the present day. The photographs were shot by Tristan Weddigen in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Yucatán in 2014, 2016, and 2019. na Paula dos Santos Salvat collected and inserted the metadata, which is organized, defined, and linked according to the newest standard based on the CIDOC-CRM ontology provided by the Swiss Art Research Infrastructure (SARI) within the EasyDB digital asset management system. This approach ensures that the open-linked data is locatable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). While the photographic collection does not provide a comprehensive view of Mexico’s cultural heritage, it aims to support research and welcomes external contributions.
